Ron Rivera is Partner with Drake Star Partners, operating from New York and Atlanta.  Prior to joining Drake Star, Ron was a managing director with Deloitte Corporate Finance LLC (“DCF”) where he served as Head of DCF’s U.S. Technology, Media & Telecom Group.  Ron’s transaction experience includes over 30 years of investment banking and M&A advisory services to public and private clients and investors within various sectors of the broad technology and software industries. Ron has assisted clients in completing over $15 billion in M&A and corporate advisory transactions globally.

Ron’s primary sector coverage focus includes enterprise software and related technology segments.  Over his career, Ron has led landmark software and technology deals with clients and counterparties including Accenture, Belkin, Nuance Communications, Oracle, Salesforce.com, Zones, Goldman Sachs, Bregal Sagemount, The Gores Group, Marlin Equity, and many other market-leading companies and private equity firms.  While with DCF, Ron also helped establish and led what became a premier global advisory franchise in automotive technology & services, advising clients such as Blackberry, Daimler, Panasonic, Foxconn, NTT Communications, U.S. Cellular, and Bose.  In addition, Ron has significant coverage experience in the areas of digital media & Internet, electronics, financial technology (including payments), and health care information technology & services.

Ron’s recent transaction experience includes Pillar Technology Group’s sale to Accenture plc, Foxconn Interconnect Technology (FIT) purchase of Belkin Int’l., MDU Enterprises sale to Marlin Equity Partners, NTT Communication’s purchase of RagingWire Data Centers, Information Builders, Inc. (ibi) in its recapitalization with Goldman Sachs & Co. and Bregal Sagemount, Drake Software’s divestiture of EPS Financial, LLC to Meta Financial Group, Bose Corporation’s divestiture of IP assets to ClearMotion, Inc., various strategic M&A assignments for Panasonic Corporation, Global Software, Inc.’s sale to Thompson Street Capital Partners, SureID’s recapitalization with Goldman Sachs & Co. and its later sale to Sterling Talent Solutions and nFrastructure Technologies LLC’s sale to Zones, Inc.

Ron holds a BA, Economics from Colorado State University, where he was also a member of its varsity baseball team.  Ron has three daughters and lives in Atlanta, GA.
