NEW YORK | September 26, 2018 – Drake Star Partners announced today that it released its sixth report on the Human Capital Management (HCM) sector. This report highlights specific M&A, financing and private equity trends within the sector, along with activity in key subsectors such as recruiting, employee engagement, payroll and workforce solutions, with an emphasis on key transactions illustrating these trends.
This report is backed by the firm’s ongoing transactional work and research in HCM and is premised on Drake Star’s long-term in-depth sector analysis. This sixth edition reveals ongoing robust activity with 124 M&A transactions in 2018 (year-to-date), and 180 transactions in the last 12 months.
As detailed in this update, a large number of firms continue to expand their HCM capabilities through acquisition with SAP America acquiring Callidus Software for over $2.5 billion – the largest deal in the past 12 months and Recruit Holdings purchasing Glassdoor and Workopolis, as well as many other significant players positioning themselves through inorganic activities. The focus on recruiting and talent acquisition seen in prior years continues to be a major point for companies. Ceridian completing its $462 million IPO in April of 2018 is another data point evidencing the sector being in favor.
