NEW YORK | December 15th, 2021 – Gregory Bedrosian, Managing Partner & CEO of Drake Star was awarded the “Global M&A Leadership” award top honors at the 13th Annual M&A Atlas Global Markets Awards ceremony.
Mr. Bedrosian’s experience spans domestic and cross-border M&A and private equity transactions across the US, Europe, and emerging markets and he is considered one of the pioneers of the modern cross-border M&A era. Prior to his current leadership role at Drake Star, he was a co-founder of the award-winning emerging markets investment bank Renaissance Capital and co-founder and General Partner of the $1 billion Sputnik Funds. Mr. Bedrosian began his international investment banking career at Credit Suisse First Boston in London and at Salomon Brothers (now part of Citigroup) in New York. He also serves as a non-executive board member of several prominent global investment firms, is an advisor at the Harvard Innovation Labs, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
As a lead-up to the award ceremony, Mr. Bedrosian was selected as one of the “Top-50 Global M&A Investment Bankers.” According to Global M&A Network, the editorial Top 50 list features the most accomplished, brilliant, and innovative dealmakers from large-cap to mid-market segments. Since 2014 the highly competitive list evaluates firms and dealmakers based on their differentiated expertise, record of executing value-creating transactions, and having successfully closed deals during the evaluated timeframe, including advising on M&A Atlas Awards winning deals.
Gregory Bedrosian, Managing Partner & CEO, upon accepting the award, commented: “I am truly honored and humbled to accept this prestigious ‘Global M&A Leadership Award’ at the 2021 M&A Atlas Global Markets Awards ceremony for my accomplishments in international and cross-border mergers & acquisitions. I often note that successful cross-border dealmaking is 1/3 finance, 1/3 diplomacy, and 1/3 social psychology and that formula has certainly served our clients well.” Mr. Bedrosian continued by saying: “This award recognition was made possible thanks to the talented and driven teams I have had the opportunity of working with and the world-class entrepreneurial and strategic clients that I have had the privilege to serve throughout my career.”
The M&A Atlas Awards are independently governed awards that honor excellence in executing growth-generating deals, top dealmakers, influential leaders, and outstanding firms from the small, middle to large-cap segments in the categories of private equity firms, lenders, investment banks, legal and services providers.
“We kept the tradition of honoring outstanding firms and top-performing dealmakers from the worldwide deal communities. While these past few years have been challenging, we were able to honor the winners who exemplify resiliency and excellence for executing transactions. We especially appreciate their participation and wish them continued success,” commented Shanta Kumari, CEO and Global Group Editor, Global M&A Network.
The winners’ virtual ceremony was held on December 9th in conjunction with the Global Growth and Deals, Annual Forum.
